  1. Bindi in fashion and beauty

Bindi's have always been a subtle adornment on beauty and fashion spreads in the past and also popular with designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier runway shows to musicians such as Gwen Stefani who became synonymous with bindis after she accessorised them in the No Doubt music video in the late 90s. The singer remains the poster child of the look after she posted a twitpic of her wearing the beauty accessory in autumn last year, confirming that the bindi revival was here to stay.

Bindi's are traditionally used by Hindu's in South Asia to signify age, status and religion but now its seen globally used and adapted by designers such as Chanel for pre-autumn 2012 presentation where models took to the catwalks in outfits and jewellery inspired by Imperial India. Heavy, ornate headpieces strung with chains, pearls and crystals were placed in the centre partings of dreadlocked hair, falling between heavily kohled eyes. Also customisation by the blogging generation and online editorials who take the look further, embellishing faces with pompoms and cartoon stickers.

Its a look we certainly love, so get sticking and create your own look, get inspiration from the pictures below, its not just for the girls but the boys too.

Rising star Mia Wasikowska stars in the latest Miu Miu 2012 ad campaign. Miuccia Prada decided to go with studio photography this season as shot by David Sims . Love it or hate it, the over-the-top styling and bold bursts of print and colour make the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaign a sure standout. I think she’s got it right again; a different statement every season. We certainly love the use of cameo accessories.

  3. Hervé Léger 2012 Ad Campaign

The new Hervé Léger ad campaign for 2012 is simply breath taking.
Striking model Fatima Siad is the main focus of the ad with a beautiful yet powerful stallion stood behind her. The image was captured by photographer Camilla Akrans and make up was by Wendy Rowe. I feel the team involved in this ad have produced a powerful tonal image of a strong female figure resembling an Amazonian warrior.

  4. Bernard Willhelm AW12 Look

Bernhard Willhelm lived up to his bold design reputation and presented a collection that was wacky and extravagant for Autumn/Winter 2012.
The show featured an array of brilliant colours and patterns; plaid and camoflague fabrics were ripped and torn to expose the model’s thighs, legs and chests. Splattered paint was used on the models faces as well as brightly coloured eye makeup in bright pink, brilliant cobalt blue, green and black . Lamis Khamis loves the use of colour in this collection we are really looking forward to summer.

  5. Comme des Garcon Homme Plus 2012

Comme des Garcons AW12 collection took us on a trip down memory lane through their styling and use of accessories. With grey and black used as the main colour palette does certainly makes this collection very clean although not bright. Lamis Khamis likes the 18th century feel to the collection. Through the use of a selection of vintage-style hats from overscaled tricorns (three-cornered hat) to neat Sunday-best domed crown shapes tied with ribbons under the chin. The collection has a great Dandy Highway man feel to it and makes us feel very nostalgic. This is a look I would love to see brought subtly into mainstream fashion.
